2009 BIG EAST ISP National Radio Network Kicks Off Fall Season

09.29.09

The BIG EAST ISP Sports Radio Network kicks off its 2009 broadcast schedule this week with a pair of games, including a non-conference matchup of national interest and the first of six key league contests that will be covered on the network this fall.

The debut broadcast features Big 12 Conference member Colorado traveling to West Virginia on Thursday (Oct. 1) for a 7:30 pm kickoff. Then just more than 24 hours later, Pitt visits Louisville in an 8:00 pm contest that is the BIG EAST Conference opener for both schools.

Veteran broadcaster John Rooke will again be the play-by-play announcer on the network with former New England Patriots standout Peter Brock serving as color analyst.

Five additional conference games throughout October and November complete the 2009 broadcast slate. Those games include Cincinnati at USF (Oct. 15 / 7:30); West Virginia at USF (Oct. 30 / 8:00); USF at Rutgers (Nov. 12 / 7:30); West Virginia at Cincinnati (Nov. 13 / 8:00); and Pitt @ West Virginia (Nov. 27 / time tba).

The BIG EAST ISP Network, now entering its third year, is produced and managed by ISP, the nation’s premier collegiate sports marketing company. Based in Winston-Salem, ISP also produces a national radio network for BIG EAST Basketball, which broadcasts a men’s hoops regular season schedule of games, as well as the league’s men’s and women’s tournaments, to a national audience.

This fall’s complete list of network affiliates, which is already at an all-time high of 85-plus, will vary from week to week depending upon previous station commitments and blackout restrictions protecting BIG EAST member school networks. Last year’s affiliate list included 80 stations representing 38 different states across the country. Most games will be carried on SIRIUS XM Radio as well.
