UCLA Women's Gymnastics Team Joins ISP National Championship List for 2009-2010

05.04.10

ISP congratulates the UCLA women’s gymnastics team in winning the 2010 NCAA Championship, continuing an impressive run of national titles for ISP-partner institutions this year.

UCLA joins ISP partners Duke (men’s basketball), Boston College (men’s ice hockey) and TCU (rifle) in capturing NCAA crowns in the last two months.  Fall 2009 national titles won by ISP schools included Alabama (FBS) and Villanova (FCS) in football, as well as the Villanova women’s cross country team earning an NCAA championship this past November.

The women’s gymnastics championship was the sixth in program history for the Bruins, who dominated the national women’s gymnastics scene by capturing five NCAA titles during an eight-year period from 1997 through 2004.

UCLA has now won 105 NCAA championships in the university’s storied athletic history.
