UCLA added another national championship to the list of ISP partner university teams reaching the summit of their respective sports when the Bruin softball team defeated Arizona 15-9 in the Women’s College World Series on June 7.
The victory marked UCLA’s 12th national championship and 11th NCAA title in softball.
It is the ninth national title won by a team representing an ISP school and the second for a UCLA team as the women’s gymnastics team won the NCAA title earlier this year. In addition to the two UCLA championships, the complete list includes: Villanova women's cross country, Villanova football (FCS), Alabama (FBS/BCS), TCU rifle, Boston College men's ice hockey, Duke men's basketball and Duke men's lacrosse.
