ACC Football National Radio Network To Feature 14 Games
07.28.08
Eleven conference match-ups featuring 10 different league schools, two key contests between ACC and Pac-10 opponents, and the 2008 ACC Championship Game are included on this season’s ACC ISP Sports National Radio Network schedule.
The network, now entering its third year, is produced and managed by ISP, the nation’s largest collegiate sports marketing company. Based in Winston-Salem, ISP also produces a national radio network for ACC Basketball and broadcasts all games in the league’s men’s and women’s basketball tournaments to a national audience.
This year’s football broadcast schedule opens August 30th when Virginia hosts Southern Cal in a game sure to draw major national interest. Two weeks later (Sept.13) the Cal at Maryland contest will be featured.
All other games on this year’s slate have ACC teams going head-to-head, highlighted by the league’s fourth annual title contest matching the Atlantic and Coastal Division winners on December 6th.
Veteran broadcaster Bill Rosinski will be the lead play-by-play announcer on the network with Andy Demetra sharing those duties. The color analyst role will be filled each week by one of a trio of individuals with strong ACC ties – former Virginia coach Sonny Randle; Ricky Proehl, a standout receiver at Wake Forest and in the NFL; and the newest member of the ACC ISP broadcast team, former UNC coach John Bunting.
The complete list of network affiliates is still to be determined and will vary from week to week depending upon game times, previous station commitments and blackout restrictions protecting ACC member school networks. Last year’s affiliate list had stations representing 17 of the country’s top 20 radio markets, including Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Detroit, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Most games will be carried on XM Radio as well.
