Paul Phipps
General Manager
Paul joined the ISP team in February, 2010 as the General Manager of the Florida State property. Most recently, Paul was working for Phipps Marketing Group, LLC as a Special Assistant to Florida State University Athletics, specializing in sports marketing with a primary focus on corporate sales, ticketing, promotions and digital media. Prior to that, Paul served as Senior Vice President for Motorsports at Wasserman Media Group, launching the motorsports division for WMG out of the Charlotte marketplace. He holds a tremendous amount of experience in the industry including CMO at International Speedway Corporation, Major League Soccer, Minor League Hockey, Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association. Paul studied in Business Management at California Lutheran University and also completed course work in the Associate Program at the American Management Association, Inc., Harvard Business College, and the Executive Program at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
Michael Smith
Associate General Manager
Michael became part of the ISP team in 2007 and brought considerable experience with him after serving as Director of Sales for Seminole Athletics Marketing since 2003. Before moving to Tallahassee, he served as an Account Manager for 14 years at WBSN, The Fan Sports Radio, in Columbus, Ohio. Michael graduated from Ohio University in 1987 with a degree in Communications.
Giles Dowden
Assistant General Manager
Giles joined the team as an Assistant General Manager of the Seminole ISP Sports Network. Before joining the team, Giles worked in the Corporate Partnerships Department of the National Football League’s St. Louis Rams. Prior to that, Giles was the Director of Corporate Partnerships for the National Hockey League’s Tampa Bay Lightning where he negotiated local and national sponsorships agreements for the NHL franchise and many other events taking place at the St. Pete Times Forum. Additional experience includes Bob Walsh Enterprises, corporate sales for three Seattle professional sports franchises including the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners and Seattle SuperSonics. His experience on the collegiate side includes the University of Oregon and Washington State's Athletic Marketing Departments. Giles is a graduate of Washington State University where he earned his undergraduate degree in Sports Management; Recreation and Leisure Studies, with a minor in Business Administration.
Jason Dennard
Director of Marketing
Jason joined the Seminole ISP Sports Network in 2007 as the Director of Marketing after spending the previous four years at Florida State University with Host Communications. Jason held numerous positions while with Host Communications, including his most recent role as Director of Promotions. Prior to coming to Florida State, he served as the Assistant Marketing and Operations Manager at Georgia Tech. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Kennesaw State University and his master’s degree from Florida State University.
Candace Friedrich
Assistant Director of Marketing
Candace joined the team in July, 2010. Most recently, she served as a Marketing Assistant for Florida State University where she planned and executed all marketing and promotions for soccer and softball, managed department interns and engaged in interaction with corporate sales and hospitality. Before that, she was a Marketing Graduate Assistant in Wichita State University's Athletic Department and was responsible for marketing and promotions, a Strike-Out Cancer benefit softball game, and gameday assistance for other varsity sports. Additional experience includes the Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association and serving as a graduate assistant for Wichita State University's Sport Management Department. Candace earned her undergraduate degree in Sport Management from Bethany College and continued her education at Wichita State University to earn her Master of Education in Sport Management.
Drew Longenecker
Assistant Director of Marketing
In the summer of 2009, Drew was promoted to Assistant Director of Marketing for the Seminole ISP Sports Network. Drew previously served one year as Marketing Assistant in Tallahassee. Prior to ISP, Drew interned in the sports marketing department as an undergrad at Florida State. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Florida State in Marketing and Sport Administration respectively.
Michael Ferriter
Account Executive
Michael joined the team in a full-time capacity as an Account Executive for the Seminole ISP Sports Network. Most recently, he was an Account Executive with the Boston College ISP Sports Network, where he generated new business, designed contracts and proposals and executed game day promotions and hospitality events. Prior to joining ISP, Michael was a Ticket Office Representative for the University of Miami athletic department. Additional experience includes Diversified Biologicals, LLC, IMG Tickets and the University of New Hampshire event marketing staff.
